Abstract:
The Present work deals with the study of the potability of water samples from Hasdeo river route from two different region of Chhatisgarh: Janjgir, Champa and Pithampur. For determining the pollution level in the water samples, pH has been measured and Most Probable Number (MPN) test has been carried out to determine the presence of coliform bacteria population. It was found that pH of the river water samples were slightly acidic. The MPN/100 ml of water was calculated to be >1800. Through the present investigation, it was concluded that the water samples were unfit for drinking.
